When the time comes to hand over your website to you we will go over the basic navigation of the administrative area. Below is an outline of what it will include. We will also walk you through how to place images, include hyperlinks in an article, and any other information specific to your website. Feel free to create your own list to include in the training. We look forward to showing you how to manage your website.

Training Agenda: R1 10.2011


1. How to log-in. (10mins)
a. Username and password
i. If a password is forgotten the system will create a new one once prompted from the front-end, if you have a log-in module there.
b. Setting up administrative roles.
c. Update email for website forms and other inquiries to go to.



2. Explain the over-all layout of the backend. (15min)
a. Articles
i. What you see on the front end and location
b. Categories
i. Are like folders for the articles
c. Sections
i. Are like folders for the Categories.
d. Modules
i. Blocks of content.
1. Examples: djimageslider, polls, main menu, latest news, Google map code.
ii. Placement can be anywhere within the parameters of the template.
e. Components
i. Blocks of content, that have a job
1. Examples: jforms, Phoca Gallery, Newsfeed, banner.
ii. Work along with some modules.
f. Article Manager
i. Majority of text content can be placed in an article housed here.
1. Inside the Article Manager is the Section manager and the Category manager. These are used to organize the website.
g. Media Manager
i. All images should only be as large as needed to be viewed on the web page. Be sure to optimize before uploading.    
ii. All pictures used on the site are uploaded here.
h. Menu Manager
i. For All of the content to be viewed on the front-end it must be tied to a menu item, which is created here.



3. Creating a new article or updating an existing one. (15mins)
a. Content: Article Manager: +New, or click on existing-
i. Fill out Title, Section, and Category and depending on your layout: yes or no to Front Page.
ii. Similar to layout of Microsoft word with toolbar for editing.
iii. Specific parameters can be used here also.
