Using a Facebook Page instead of a Profile
A business sent me a friend request on Facebook. The request was for her business not her personal profile. While this works it goes against Facebook policy. Instead Facebook wants you to create a Page for your business. With this option you are able to suggest your business page instead of sending friend requests. Potential customers can "Like" your page when they come across it. As a business you are also given options to create an ad campaign. Just like a personal profile, the status updates will populate in the newsfeeds of all the people that have liked your page. In addition to that a link will become available in the newsfeeds of all their friends when they have "Liked" your business page. As you can imagine "going viral" can promote your business while you simply work your business. Don't forget that you need to post and interact with your page to continue to get the word out about how great your business is.
