Do you run? Do you like technology?
Race for the Cure is a popular event. Many will donate and participate in the Run/Walk that the organization puts on annually. I enjoy running, I also enjoy yoga, and sometimes I do weight training but I find that so boring I don't do it as much as I could. So a friend of mine mentioned that there office was going to participate and invited a few friends to join. The more the merrier right? I was up for it, early morning in South Florida down by the water, perfect. I got to thinking maybe since I run (infrequently) I could try to run it instead of walking.
I looked online for info on how long the run is, 3.1 miles. It's a 5K. While online I "Googled" how do I know how far I ran......lo and behold this website, geodistance.com comes up.
It's stupid easy, I enjoy technology! You can put in your zipcode, which I did, I run around my neighborhood. I clicked my starting point and then each corner that I turn down, creating a route. This calculated and showed, with the route I was running, I ran for an entire ....... one mile. I thought for sure it was more! It felt like more! Now I know, I need to step it up a notch or just plan on walking with everyone else at the Race for the Cure event.
